Volunteerism in Utah
...............................................................................................
In June of 2006, the Corporation for National and Community Service released its landmark report, “Volunteering in America: State Trends and Rankings” which ranked Utah number one in the nation for volunteering across nearly every sector. This initial report covered the period from 2002-2005. In the 2007 report, Utah was also ranked number one and in 2008, the third year of this report, Utah continues to lead the nation in volunteering ranking number one. On average, Utah's 792,000 volunteers dedicated 146.9 million hours of service per year (between 2005 and 2007). The estimated economic contribution of these volunteer hours served in Utah is $2.9 billion annually.-- THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS! LEARN MORE |
