Nonprofit Past Recipients

2005 - Wabi Sabi-- Founded in 2002 as a nonprofit thrift store, WabiSabi is increasing its efforts to help the Moab community. Goods donated to WabiSabi are donated to the Navajo Nation, helping 500 families in need; or sold in the WabiSabi thrift store, with proceeds benefiting local nonprofits. Items that do not sell are recycled. To encourage civic engagement, WabiSabi started the "Make a Difference in Moab" fund to encourage community-minded projects designed by individuals. The fund awards small grants to projects that improve the environment, quality of living, or increase the communities sustainability.

Over 100 volunteers serve with WabiSabi, helping to run the thrift store, sorting donations, and planning special events and fundraisers.
