Dear Fellow Utahn:

        The words "volunteer" and "service" are heart warming words, exemplified in the efforts of the thousands of Utahns who give of themselves to strengthen our communities, families, children, and homes.

        The Governor's "Point of Light" award offers Utah volunteers the acknowledgment and respect they richly deserve. It is my hope that the recognition of those selected for the "Point of Light" award will encourage the spirit of service to spread throughout our great State of Utah.

        I encourage you to nominate a volunteer who has made a positive difference in your community. Through this award program we will offer our admiration and respect to those volunteers who so generously give of their time and talents. Thank you.
