The Utah Volunteer Service Awards celebrate the extraordinary volunteer efforts of Utahns all across the state. Awards are presented at the Lieutenant Governor’s Volunteer Recognition and Awards Banquet at the Conference on Service hosted by the Utah Commission on Volunteers.
Governor’s Lifetime Achievement Award
Winner- Marion Palmer

Governor’s Lifetime Achievement Award honors an individual who, over the course of his or her lifetime, has made significant contributions to Utah through volunteer efforts (either as a volunteer, a manager of volunteers, or a combination of both). The judges may elect not to present this award this year.
Lieutenant Governor’s Civic Volunteer of the Year Award

Lieutenant Governor’s Civic Volunteer of the Year Award honors an individual who has improved his or her community through civic engagement. Minimum qualifications are five years of continuous or near continuous service in at least three different areas of the community (library, school, city government, etc.)
Corporate Volunteer Program of the Year Award
Winners- (Team Depot )
Corporate Volunteer Program of the Year recognizes a for profit organization that runs a particularly effective employee volunteer program. Corporate philanthropic commitments are considered, but the volunteer efforts of the organization are the primary factor.
Nonprofit Volunteer Program of the Year Award

Nonprofit Volunteer Program of the Year recognizes a not for profit organization that exemplifies exceptional volunteer management practices.
Volunteer Administrator of the Year Award

Volunteer Administrator of the Year Award honors a paid or volunteer manager who exemplifies solid volunteer management skills.
Utah AmeriCorps Member/VISTA of the Year Award
Winners- (Brian Wayment, )
Recognizes an outstanding AmeriCorps member serving in a Utah AmeriCorps*State program or a VISTA member serving in the state. One individual from each of these areas will be recognized. The member’s efforts must go beyond standard expectations.
Community Preparedness Award
Winners- (Logan City Wilson Area Volunteer Coalition, )
Recognizes innovative, multi-participant community programs which have resulted in effective efforts to improve the health and safety of their community, and to prepare for and respond to disasters
Youth Service Utah Award
Winners- (Maggie Brown, )
Youth Service Utah Awards honor youth ages 12-18 who have performed outstanding service in their communities and are making a positive impact in their local areas. Can be awarded as an individual or group
Senior Volunteer of the Year
The Senior Volunteer Award honors adults 55 and older who have performed volunteer service in their community and have made a meaningful impact in the lives of others. This award will be awarded for service performed in the past 12 months. This may be awarded to an individual or group.
